Union Minister Raosaheb Danve has stated that the proposal for the Mumbai-Nagpur high-speed corridor is just one of seven suggested routes by the federal government. The remaining six routes include Delhi-Varanasi, Delhi-Amritsar, Delhi-Ahmedabad, Mumbai-Hyderabad, Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysuru, and Varanasi-Howrah. In addition to Mumbai-Nagpur, the Railways has also acquired a Detailed Project Report from the National High-Speed Rail Corp. Ltd for the New Delhi-Varanasi Corridor.
